    Abstract

This study aims to conduct meta-analysis on existing literature of robotics education for young children (Pre-K and kindergarten through 5th grades). Relying on the systematical review and categorized key themes of existing studies, this study concluded the cur rent research trend in young children’s robotics learning has weighted toward the outcome–focused research. This study suggests that this research trend can prove the impact of robotics education with strong evidence and advocate an instrumental view to regards robotics education as a mean to serve not only to other subject areas and but also to young children’s holistic development. This study calls for expanded research on needs and challenges that young children might have to learn robotics and access to STEM areas.
